Boxer Duryodhan Negi tests positive for COVID-19

The welterweight (69kg) category fighter had refunded to the federal workout base in Patiala after a Diwali crack and sampled positive during the necessary quarantine.

India’s leading boxer, Duryodhan Singh Negi (69kg) has assessed positive for Corona and has been changed to a hospital in Patiala.

Negi, who has been instructing at the SAI’s NSNIS Patiala centre, is asymptomatic.

He has been admitted to Columbia Asia Hospital as a precautionary gauge.

The fighter had been on vacation for the Diwali break and and was in quarantine upon his rescue to the NSNIS.

On Saturday, SAI had notified that 74kg freestyle wrestler Gurpreet Singh ,77kg Greco-Roman wrestler Narsingh Yadav, and physiotherapist Vishal Rai, have confirmed positive for covid-19.

As per SOPs organized by SAI, he was tested  on the sixth day after his rescue to the center.

All care is being seized of him to ensure a speedy recovery. A 27-member Indian boxing group is nowadays training in Milan on a 52-day lengthy training-cum-competition programme.
